Contacts, Lists and Segments
A contact is an individual customer record, including identifiers such as email or telephone and any custom attributes. A list is a named collection of contacts, such as newsletter subscribers or event registrants. A segment selects contacts using rules, such as location or customer attributes.
Use lists to organize where contacts belong and segments to make your campaign audience more relevant. The same customer record can support several channel workflows.
Yes. Store extra customer information as contact attributes, such as city, customer_type or partner_program. Map your form or import fields to those attributes and use consistent field names across your tools.
Those fields give your team useful context and can support personalization and audience selection. For example, a partner form can record which programme the applicant selected.
Store numbers in international format with the country code, such as +234 for Nigeria or +254 for Kenya. Keep one telephone number per field and remove unrelated text.
A complete number helps Yournotify identify the destination correctly. Before a campaign, check that the selected contacts have the telephone field needed for that channel and that your sender is set up for the destination.
Yes. A list can hold the customer records you use across channel workflows. Each campaign uses the identifier required for its channel: email for Email, telephone for SMS or WhatsApp, and the connected subscriber identity for Push.
Create segments for contacts who have the relevant channel details and preferences. This keeps the audience useful when you switch from a newsletter to a reminder or follow-up.
